In detail
The National Testing Agency (NTA) UGC NET June 2026 cycle recruits for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) and Assistant Professor eligibility across 87 subjects. Visually Impaired and other PwBD candidates receive a 4% horizontal reservation under the RPwD Act 2016, with scribe and compensatory time fully supported. Applications closed on 15 June 2026 and the exams are being held on 22, 23, 24, 25, 29 and 30 June — if your date is still ahead, download your admit card from ugcnet.nta.ac.in and confirm scribe and compensatory time are printed on it. Key facilities: (1) Compensatory Time: all PwBD candidates with 40% or more disability get 20 minutes per hour — 60 minutes extra over the 3-hour paper — whether or not they use a scribe. (2) Scribe Facility: candidates with blindness, both-arm locomotor disability or cerebral palsy are automatically eligible; others may request it with a writing-limitation certificate. You can bring your own scribe (one step below graduation, with an undertaking) or have NTA provide one. (3) Fee Concession: PwBD candidates pay the lowest tier, about Rs. 325 versus Rs. 1,150 for General. Remember: there is no negative marking, so attempt every question.
