1. Exam Overview
SSC CPO 2026 notification expected on 31 May 2026. Recruits Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB). Previous cycle had ~3,073 vacancies. VI candidates are generally NOT eligible for CPO due to physical fitness and eyesight standards. Check post-wise suitability before applying.
A uniformed, operational police/paramilitary officer role with mandatory physical efficiency (PET/PST) and medical vision standards.
VI note: Visually Impaired candidates are not eligible β these posts require A-grade eyesight and physical fitness. If you are a VI aspirant, SSC CGL, CHSL or MTS are the right targets instead.
3. Vacancies β General, PwBD and VI
Total: Not yet announced. Previous cycle (SSC CPO 2025) had approximately 3,073 vacancies.
VI / PwBD: VI candidates (Blindness, Low Vision) are generally NOT eligible for SSC CPO due to mandatory eyesight standards for uniformed/armed posts. PwBD reservation may be NIL or very limited for these posts. Do NOT apply unless the official notification explicitly lists your PwBD category as suitable for a specific post.
4. Exam Structure and Pattern
Paper 1 (CBT)
Online objective CBT
Duration: 2 hours; with compensatory time for eligible PwBD candidates
General Intelligence and Reasoning50 Q Β· 50 marks
General Knowledge and Awareness50 Q Β· 50 marks
Quantitative Aptitude50 Q Β· 50 marks
English Comprehension50 Q Β· 50 marks
Total: 200 marks Β· Minus 0.25 per wrong answer
Followed by Physical Standard/Efficiency Tests (PST/PET), Paper 2 (English, 200 marks) and a Detailed Medical Examination β all with strict vision and fitness standards.
