SBI PO 2026 application window closed on 8 July 2026. Recruitment is for 1,500 Probationary Officer posts. Prelims are scheduled for August 2026. Candidates who requested scribe accommodations must keep their candidate-arranged scribe documents ready for exam day.
Probationary Officer (PO)
VI: SuitableState Bank of India · JMGS-I — basic ~₹48,480; CTC ~₹12–14 lakh per year
A management-track officer role. After a two-year probation you serve as a branch officer handling customer relationships, credit, operations and supervision — office and branch banking work.
VI note: Branch and officer banking is computer-based and broadly accessible; scribe and compensatory time apply.
Total: 1,500 Probationary Officer posts. PwBD breakdown in the notification annexure.
VI / PwBD: Not yet announced. 4% horizontal PwBD reservation applies — VI (Blindness + Low Vision combined) sub-category posts will be part of the official PwBD vacancy table. Category: VI must have 40% or more visual disability (certified by competent medical authority).
Prelims
Online objective CBT (qualifying only)
Duration: 60 minutes; 80 with compensatory time
Total: 100 marks · Minus 0.25 per wrong answer
Sectional timing of 20 minutes per section. Qualifying — Prelims marks do not count to the final merit.
Mains
Online objective plus a descriptive paper
Duration: 3 hours objective plus 30 minutes descriptive
Total: 250 marks · Minus 0.25 per wrong objective answer
Mains marks carry to the final merit along with the interview and group exercise.
Group Exercise & Interview
Psychometric, group exercise and interview

Total: 50 marks · Not applicable
Final selection: Mains (250) plus Interview and Group Exercise (50), normalised.
