RRB NTPC 2025 fills clerical and station-level railway posts at Graduate and Undergraduate levels. CBT-1 is complete; CBT-2 is next. Important for VI and PwBD aspirants: railway posts carry strict medical (vision) standards, so suitability is post-specific — verify the medical category for each post before applying. Junior Clerk cum Typist / Accounts Clerk cum Typist
VI: LimitedIndian Railways (Undergraduate level) · Level 2 — ₹19,900 basic
Clerical and accounts work in railway offices — the most accessible NTPC posts. A qualifying typing test applies, and railway medical standards still gate eligibility.
VI note: Among the few NTPC posts a low-vision candidate may be eligible for — confirm the post’s medical category in the CEN.
Senior Clerk cum Typist / Junior Account Assistant cum Typist
VI: LimitedIndian Railways (Graduate level) · Level 5 — ₹29,200 basic
Higher clerical and accounts posts — office work with a qualifying typing test, subject to railway medical standards.
VI note: Possible for low-vision candidates if the post’s medical category permits — verify before applying.
Station Master / Goods Train Manager (Guard)
VI: Not suitableIndian Railways · Level 5 to 6
Safety-critical operational posts controlling train movement. Require a Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) and high visual standards.
VI note: Not open to Visually Impaired candidates — these posts need A-grade vision for safety.
Commercial cum Ticket Clerk / Trains Clerk
VI: LimitedIndian Railways · Level 2 to 3
Ticketing and train-clerk roles with public interface and shift work; railway medical standards apply.
VI note: Suitability depends on the medical category and duties — check the CEN carefully.
Total: 8,868 posts total — Graduate level (CEN 06/2025): 5,810; Undergraduate level (CEN 07/2025): 3,058.
VI / PwBD: 4% horizontal PwBD reservation applies, but railway posts have post-wise medical (vision) standards. Visually Impaired suitability is LIMITED — mostly to low-vision-friendly clerical posts (Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist), and even these carry medical-category requirements. Safety posts (Station Master, Goods Train Manager/Guard) require higher visual standards and are generally NOT open to VI candidates. Check the post-wise PwBD suitability and medical-standard table in the official CEN before applying.
CBT-1 (screening)
Computer Based Test, common to a post group
Duration: 90 minutes; 120 with compensatory time
Total: 100 marks · Minus one-third (0.33) per wrong answer
Normalised and used only to shortlist for CBT-2.
CBT-2 (merit)
Computer Based Test, level-specific

Total: 120 marks · Minus one-third (0.33) per wrong answer
Normalised marks decide the merit for most posts.
Skill / Aptitude Test, DV and Medical
Typing Skill Test (clerk/typist) or CBAT (Station Master/Guard)

Typing test is qualifying for typist posts; CBAT applies only to Station Master and Guard. Document Verification and a Medical Examination against the post’s railway medical category follow.
