1. Exam Overview

RBI Assistant 2026 Mains is done; the result and Language Proficiency Test schedule are awaited on Opportunities@RBI. Shortlisted candidates take the qualifying LPT next — ask RBI in advance about any PwBD accommodation you need for it. This page is a full preparation guide.

Assistant

VI: Suitable

Reserve Bank of India · Clerical cadre — basic ~₹20,700; CTC ~₹6–7 lakh per year (with RBI allowances)

Clerical and office work at the central bank — among the best-paid and most prestigious clerical jobs. Computer-based office work, well suited to VI candidates.

VI note: Office and computer-based work; candidate-arranged scribe plus 20-minutes-per-hour compensatory time.

3. Vacancies — General, PwBD and VI

Total: 650 posts total across RBI offices. Office-wise vacancy breakdown available in the official notification PDF on opportunities.rbi.org.in.

VI / PwBD: 4% horizontal PwBD reservation applies to 650 posts. VI/LV vacancies are distributed office-wise. Check the official notification PDF for the office-wise PwBD vacancy table — the VI sub-category count is office and zone specific.

Prelims

Online objective CBT (qualifying)

Duration: 60 minutes; 80 with compensatory time
